Longshot Archer
Hit Die: d8
 
Requirements:
To qualify to become a Longshot Archer, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.
Base Attack Bonus: +6
Skills: Climb 10 ranks replaced with Craft (bowyer) 8 ranks, Spot 5 ranks, Survival 5 ranks
Feats: Far Shot, Mountain Warrior replaced with Precise Shot and Weapon Focus (ranged projectile weapon)
 
Class Skills:
The Longshot Archerís class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Knowledge (nature)(Int), Profession (Wis), Ride (Dex), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis), and Swim (Str).
Skill Points at each Level: 4 + Int modifier
 
Class Features:
Adept Climber (Ex) (REMOVED): A Cragtop Archer does not lose his/her Dexterity bonus to Armor Class while Climbing.

Improved Precise Shot (Ex) (ADDED): At 1st level, the Longshot Archer is treated as having the Improved Precise Shot feat, even if he/she does not have the normal prerequisites for that feat. (This negates the miss chance given by concealment or cover but not total concealment or total cover and negates the chance of hitting the wrong target when firing into a grapple)
 
Longshot Sniper (Ex) (ADDED): Beginning at 1st level, a Longshot Archer's levels stack with the Scout class for the purpose of determining the extra damage granted when taking a sniper shot and for the Scout Bonus feats.
 
Farsight (Ex): A Longshot Archer enjoys great visual acuity. He/She suffers only half the normal penalty on his/her Spot checks because of distance (-1 per 20 feet of distance, rather than -1 per 10 feet). In addition, a Longshot Archer takes only half the normal penalty on ranged attacks per range increment (-1 per range increment, rather than -2).
 
Strike From Above (Ex) (REMOVED): Beginning at 2nd level, a Cragtop Archer gains a +2 bonus on damage rolls when making a ranged attack from higher ground than his/her target.

Weapon Specialization (Ex) (ADDED): At 2nd level, the Longshot Archer is treated as having the Weapon Specialization feat, even if he/she does not have the normal prerequisites for that feat. This can only be applied to a projectile weapon. (Grants a +2 bonus to damage with a chosen weapon)
 
Arcing Shot (Ex): A Longshot Archer of 3rd level or higher can fire a high, arcing shot to gain greater range with his/her projectile weapon.  Any time the Longshot Archer can fire a projectile weapon in an area with at least 40 feet of clearance between his/her position and the ceiling (or any other overhead obstruction, such as a forest canopy), his/her maximum range with the projectile weapon is fifteen range increments rather than the normal ten range increments.
 
Horizon Shot (Su): From 4th level on, a Longshot Archer can seemingly hit targets as far away as the horizon as easily as he/she can hit something nearby. As a full round action, the Longshot Archer can make a single attack with a projectile weapon. This attack is made with no penalty for range, though it still has the same maximum range as a normal attack by the Longshot Archer. This ability can be used in conjunction with any ability that extends the range of a projectile weapon, such as the Far Shot feat or the Longshot Archerís Arcing Shot ability.
 
Mountain Skin (Su) (REMOVED): Three times per day, a 5th level Cragtop Archer can gather the strength of the mountains into his/her own body, manifesting his/her bond with them within himself/herself. While this ability is in effect, the Cragtop Archer gains damage reduction 5/adamantine.
Activating the mountain skin ability is a free action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. The benefit from mountain skin lasts for a number of rounds equal to 5 + the characterís Con modifier.

Ranged Weapon Mastery - Piercing (Ex) (ADDED): A Longshot Archer of 5th level is treated as having the Ranged Weapon Mastery - Piercing feat, even if he/she does not have the normal prerequisites for that feat. (Grants a +2 bonus to hit and damage with a chosen ranged weapon and extends the range increment by +20')

This modification to the PrC is in game play at the moment. Changes could be made by removing the granted feats and replacing them with slightly less potent ones such as Precise Shot being replaced with Lookout (further extending the range which one can use the Spot skill without incurring a penalty) or Trick Shot (Archery) (allows a +4 to hit with any shot that does not deal damage to a living target) and Ranged Weapon Mastery with Master Archer (also granting a +2 to hit but only a +1 to damage and not extending the range increment by +20'). Most players see the woodland classes (Ranger and Scout) prone to being the best archers although exclusive feats grant this to be more true of the Fighter. In order to once again return some power to the classes usually seen as the potent archers this PrC allows for a few of the exclusive feats to be used.

The Longshot Sniper was added considering there are feats that allow for stacking of different classes with the Scout class already (more specifically stacking primary classes such as Ranger or Rogue with Scout) and many PrC's allow for stacking of the Rogue's Sneak Attack. Yet the class ability is limited to the Sniper varient of the Scout class due to the nature of this PrC's very long range that contradicts the 30'-60' limitation given to the standard Scout's Skirmish ability.
