It seems a lot of people around here are getting standoffish. The more insulted people get over something trivial, which it seems to me is exactly what is happening, the worse the standoffish behavior becomes. Instead of taking criticism to heart as an insult, read it carefully, maybe even two or three times to make certain it wasn't meant as an insult. I've seen fistfights start over something that is misheard, misread, or misunderstood. No one here needs to repeat themselves. If clarification on something is needed, someone should ask and the person who is making the offering should be happy to help clear up what's meant.
While some feel that this project is going nowhere, especially with the arguments over what goes where, and what there should/shouldn't be. This setting that the ENTIRE community (those who are posting anyway) has been working on started out as ideas. Just like any other setting. And those ideas take time to grow, you can't have a community built setting ready in a day, it's not even possible for an individual to make an entire setting in a day.
Maybe working on one part of the setting at a time would be better than putting out each portion that needs work all at once. We could start with history - this portion still needs a lot of work on its own, nevermind about the other parts. If it were myself working on this setting, I would definitely get History then major sites out first as they usually seem the most difficult to get completed. In the mean time another smaller group could work on classes, another on races, and another on whatever else, etc.
I dunno, just a thought on this, might even help reduce arguments and unnecessary confrontations in the future.
Just as additional note here, I will be working mostly on my own setting, anything I do post will be offered to the magazine as an 'Alternate Worlds' article, or "Try this in your campaign." drop-in article. If I do get asked to work on special icebound projects I will note in the offering that it was an icebound project.
