Sorry it's taking so long. I'm having to reteach myself how to paint (I haven't painted in almost 20 years, and I don't have the money for programs like Painter), as well as I'm studying and have to draw several images for the finished product. I'm putting my complete effort into it.

There are free programs available such as:

GIMP (bitmap): http://www.gimp.org/

Inkscape (vector): http://www.inkscape.org/

This list isn't limited to graphics software but that's what we've been discussing so far.  Feel free to post more stuff you find useful (related in some way to the magazine or gaming in general like graphics for art or stuff for writing).  Resources for models / fonts / ect can also be added in.

I'm finding interesting things out about OpenOffice.org program.  Might have an image for everyone to look at when I'm done experimenting with the program, and that's just one of the functions.

It can open almost any file.

Wouldn't say almost but does have a bit of file type support.  What are you finding out?

Anyone know of software that takes Word documents and turns them into PDFs, and do you guys accept PDFs? I ask because I've got some nifty fonts/graphics I'd like to see as part of one particular project I'm working on.

If you need a PDF you could say pull it into Open Office, Abiword or whatever and then save as a PDF.  Accepting PDF's would be more difficult as we would need something we can work with.  But can send graphics and such as a seperate attachment if you need to.

File> Print> Save as PDF  (of course you have to be using Mac OS X)   ;)
